Reginald is a native of Mount Olive, North Carolina. Born to pastors - Apostle Preston and Co-Pastor Jessie Grimes, he is the youngest of three children. Yahweh began tugging at his heart from a very early age. After much struggle and procrastination, he finally surrendered his life to Christ in 1987, at the tender age of 12 years old, during a revival service at Holy Ghost Cathedral - Mount Olive, North Carolina. This is also the ministry his parents pastored. As a child, Reginald served the ministry in various capacities. But he would eventually find his love in the music ministry as the keyboardist during his middle school through early college years. God used his gift of playing as a tool and catalyst to grow spiritually in the things of God, as well as develop his leadership skills.

Unbeknownst to Reginald, GOD would allow him to cross paths again years later with a young lady whom accepted Christ during the same revival night he did. She too was a member of Holy Ghost Cathedral in their early years. So on December 22nd, 1996, Reginald married Safonia Thompson of Goldsboro, North Carolina. From this union, four beautiful children were born - Courtney, Justin, Andrew and Isaiyah.

In 1998 God would lead Reginald and his wife to Christ Centered Church - Goldsboro, North Carolina under the leadership of Apostles Dennis and Ravonda Jacobs. He would spend approximately 10 years there being trained in ministry and serving in various leadership roles.​ The sovereignty of GOD would lead him back to the church of his youth in 2023 as his father was about to retire as pastor. On October 15th, 2023, Apostle Preston Grimes passed the baton to his son, and Reginald was installed as the second pastor of Holy Ghost Cathedral.

Reginald has a strong passion to see the Body of Christ operate in divine order, submission and excellence in the spirit of truth. He also posses a desire to help build, empower and release the people of GOD into their predestined purpose and callings given by their Creator.
